Clean Bedrooms

We have taken extra steps to ensure our bedrooms are fully cleaned and ready to use: Enhanced cleaning, disinfecting of all hand contact surfaces, reduced paper literature, anti-viral washing of towels and linens and frequent cleaning of common areas.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes at Greene King to make sure that when we reopen our pubs, we make them as safe as possible, whilst also following the latest government guidelines. That’s why we’ve developed 5 key promises to you, our loyal customers, as well as our dedicated teams, to keep everybody safe.

Frequently Asked Questions


To ensure that we can adhere to social distancing guidelines we may have moved the entrance to reception. There will be clear signage once you arrive at the hotel so please look out for signs directing you to reception or for "hotel guests only". Our reception desks have been fitted with clear perspex screens to provide protection during the check-in process. There may also be floor signs to help you maintain social distancing in the event of a queue.

Check In/Check Out

Your room/s will be available from 2pm on the day of arrival. You will be asked to pay for your stay during check-in, a step we are taking to reduce the need for contact and to comply with social distancing guidelines. We are requiring all guests to pay in full on arrival for your room (and breakfast where included) to eliminate the need to check-out.

As you will be required to pay for your stay on arrival, this will require you to only deposit your key at reception on check-out so that we can sanitise all keys safely before issuing to the next guest. Check out is before 11am on day of departure. You will be issued with an invoice by email after your stay.

Breakfast & Dining

The pub/restaurant will be open and will be fully compliant to social distancing measures set out by the UK government designed to keep you, other guests and our team safe. It is advisable to pre-book at our restaurant for lunch or dinner before you arrive as we cannot guarantee a table within our pub due to social distancing measures we'll have in place. Call the hotel directly to arrange your table booking or you can reserve online. 

You will be able to pay as you go for any food or drinks you have in the pub/restaurant and we would appreciate you paying by contactless credit card where possible. Or you can download the Greene King app and use the new Order and Pay service.

House Keeping

Our housekeeping team will service your room daily during your stay and will require you to vacate your room whilst they are cleaning it. If you would prefer not to have your room serviced during your stay, please let us know when you check-in or use the Do Not Disturbed sign available in your room.

We have enhanced cleaning measures in place, we're disinfecting all hand contact surfaces, reducing room collateral, using anti-viral washing of towels and linen and frequently cleaning common areas. We're working closely with the UK Government to ensure our policy and procedures are always up to date.


Keeping Everybody Safe

Hand sanitiser stations are available throughout the pub, restaurant and hotel. Maintain social distancing where possible in corridors and public areas throughout your stay. We are providing our teams with protective equipment so you may see our teams wearing gloves, face masks or visors. This is for both your and their protection, but we hope it won't take away from the warm welcome and hospitality during your stay. Guests are encouraged to wear face masks in communal areas and in corridors at our pubs and hotels.

If you develop symptoms within 14 days before your arrival date, please do not visit us. Call our Customer Reservations team on 0345 60 86 040 to rearrange your stay or cancel your booking. If you have pre-paid your booking, you will be entitled to a full refund if you cancel your booking before 12pm on the day you're due to arrive.

Cancellation Policy

All our rates are now flexible. If you would like to cancel or amend your booking, you can do so free of charge up to 12pm on the day of your arrival date. Please call our Customer Reservations team on 0345 60 86 040 if you would like to amend your booking.

You will be provided with two options, book another stay at a later date or receive a full refund if you have pre-paid your booking. Guests will be subject to pay their stay in full if a booking is cancelled after 12pm on the day of arrival.
