Stay in a historic hotel

Close to the banks of both the River Avon and River Severn, the Bell Inn, Tewkesbury, is set right in the heart of the historic market town of Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire. As soon as you arrive at the Bell Inn you'll be greeted with a warm welcome, and the excellent service will continue throughout your stay.

The Tudor-style hotel was built in 1696 and is located right across the road from Tewkesbury Abbey. With double, twin and rooms available, you'll find the perfect place for you (and maybe your pooch too) to rest your head. Each of the 23 rooms feature comfy beds and plump pillows, as well as tea and coffee making facilities and free Wi-Fi so you'll always stay connected. Charges for dogs apply and need to be pre-booked by phone by calling 0345 608 6040.

The Bell Inn is also the perfect place to celebrate special occasions such as landmark birthdays, anniversary parties and even weddings. With the help of a dedicated wedding co-ordinator, we can make your big day unforgettable for you and your guests.

The rural location of the hotel makes exploring the local countryside easy, whilst the stunning Cotswolds is just a 10-minute drive away. The 10th century Tewkesbury Abbey is right on the hotel's doorstep, as are the John Moore Museum and Tewkesbury Heritage Centre. You can also visit the site of the War of the Roses battle, plus Bredon Barn, Ashleworth Tithe Barn, Odda's Chapel, Hailes Abbey, and Goodrich Castle.

The hotel is also 7 miles from Cheltenham, 9 from Gloucester, and 14 from Worcester. Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon - and all its cultural treasures - is just 24 miles away.

Enjoy classic pub dining

Whether you've made the trip to the Cotswolds or Stratford-upon-Avon, or you've just explored the local sites in Tewkesbury, the bar and restaurant will be waiting for you after a long day. You can enjoy hearty pub classics, from burgers and steaks, as well as seasonal salads and lighter bites. And the next morning you'll wake up to a Full English or continental breakfast.
