There are loads of things to keep you busy all year round when you stay at The Highwayman. Historic St Albans is just down the road, while Wrest Park, National Trust sites Sharpenhoe and Shaw's Corner, and English Heritage sites Old Gorhambury House and the Roman Walls of St Albans all have plenty to offer. Whipsnade Zoo, Stockwood Discovery Centre and Wardown House Museum are all great days out, while Barton Hills National Nature Reserve is a fantastic destination for walkers, families and wildlife enthusiasts. Dunstable Downs also provides a great place to get some fresh air and exercise, and if you want to perfect your swing, head for a round or two at Stockwood Park Golf Club or Dunstable Golf Club.
