A traditional inn with modern comforts

Built in the 15th century as a coaching inn, where guests could stay before changing coaches, the Cock is a hotel rich in history. It stands on the famous Roman road, Watling Street, across from The Bull Hotel, and is the source of the phrase 'a cock-and-bull story' thanks to the gossip and tales travellers would tell as they drank in the two inns. It's also a fantastic venue to host special occasions such as weddings, family parties and anniversary meals.

The hotel boasts plenty of period features, both inside and out, but you'll find it's a modern today. All of the 30 bedrooms are en-suite, have comfortable beds, and flat screen TVs, offer free Wi-Fi and blend tasteful decor with historic touches.

Sitting in the heart of gorgeous Stony Stratford, you can explore the sites of this beautiful town on foot. On the edge of Milton Keynes, you'll have access to all the city has to offer too, with great shopping, nightlife and attractions like Snozone and Milton Keynes Theatre. In surrounding Buckinghamshire you'll find Bletchley Park, Gulliver's Land, National Trust sites at Buckingham Chantry Chapel and Claydon, and so much more.

Eat, drink and be merry

Travellers have been sleeping and eating at the Cock Hotel for hundreds of years, swapping gossip and rumour as they drink and share food. That's a tradition you can enjoy today in the bar and restaurant.

You'll find a selection of fine wines, real ales and premium lagers on offer, plus hearty, freshly cooked pub classics, succulent steaks and plenty of seasonal specials. We offer a breakfast seven days a week to our guests, with tasty cooked and continental options to choose from.

Book direct with us now and enjoy 20% off lunch and dinner at our hotel restaurant throughout your stay. T&Cs apply.
